There is something to be said for the power of positive thinking. We all have times when we feel blue, perhaps discouraged or disappointed, invisible or misunderstood, either at work or at home. We've all had to deal with the brutal weather recently. Driving, shoveling, taking time off to take care of the kids on a snow day, it seems to go on and on. And you think, how can I get out of this funk? Well, if you can't hop on a plane to somewhere warm or head to the spa, there are some things you can do right here to make yourself feel a little bit better. You just have to allow yourself to indulge. Sometimes it's just sitting quietly with a cup of tea, or watching a favorite movie, or enjoying a piece of chocolate. Maybe it's reaching out to a good friend or a family member and having a good talk. Even listening to your favorite song on the radio is a great escape. The point is, you need to do something nice for yourself, to take care of yourself, to surround yourself with the your biggest fans, you know, the people who love you the most, the ones who have your back. You'll be surprised how taking just a tiny moment out of your day to focus on your well being can have a positive effect. Hey, even writing this has been uplifting!
