I realize that the next Leap Day is 4 years away, but the time to act is now! Let's move that day to the end of June. Why would anyone want to add an extra day to a month in the middle of winter? It was a bad idea, and a lousy way to make up for the 6 hours that are somehow lost each year.


Let's use a little common sense and move this 29th day of February to a nice warm summer month. July and August have 31 days, so let's give June that additional Leap Day and make it 31 days as well. An extra day of summer. What could be better?


Technically, this move doesn't actually make summer any longer, but psychologically it would seem like it. If you were born on February 29th, why not continue to celebrate your birthday on that mythical day as we do now during non leap years? Better yet, throw yourself a belated birthday party on June 31st and enjoy the spectacular weather. If you can find anything wrong with this logic, I'd like to know.
