Valentine's Day is just days  away and the scramble for roses has begun.  I came across the following info that I would like to pass along to you, just in case you're like me and not up to speed on rose etiquette.  Be careful, because the color you send, and the number you send, convey a certain message.

Color of roses

Red -  The ultimate symbol of romantic love. Representing true love stronger than thorns, the red rose is known universally as the lover’s rose.

White - The white rose is associated with young love. It also symbolizes truth and reverence, and sends a message of loyalty.

Yellow - What used to convey jealousy now represents friendship, joy and caring.  

Pink - This sends a message of gratitude and appreciation.

Orange - The orange rose symbolizes enthusiasm and desire -- a good way to express admiration and attraction.

Lilac and Purple - The lilac and purple rose send a message of love at first sight.  A great Valentine flower.

Multi-colored roses - Red and yellow roses mean happiness, while a mix of red and white roses symbolize unity.

Number of roses

1 - Love at first sight. A good first date rose.

2 - Represents your mutual love and affection

3 - A bouquet of three roses is traditional one month anniversary gift.

6 - Whether it's a school crush or a more mature passion, six roses symbolizes infatuation.

9 - To send the message "We'll be together forever," send a bouquet of nine roses.

10 - Let them know that their love is perfection with a bouquet of ten roses.

12- A perfect dozen shouts "Be Mine!"

13 - To tell someone you'll be their friend forever.

15 - I'm sorry for (whatever you did wrong!).

20 - Send the message "my feelings for you are truly sincere" with a bouquet of twenty roses.

21 - Twenty-one roses say, "I'm dedicated to you."

24 - Two dozen roses shouts "I'm yours!"

So now you know..... get the color and number right!    You can thank me later.
