No Candy For You!

Who took the “trick” out of trick or treating?  The days of harmless Halloween pranks are long gone.  Soaping windows, smashing pumpkins, or rolling the yard are just not tolerated anymore, and now the town of Belleville, Illinois is imposing an age limit!  If you haven’t heard this story, here’s the deal:  Trick or treating by high-school teenagers is now banned.  Kids over the age of 12 could face a $100 fine or even go to jail. What?

They can’t be serious!   Sure, we all get a little steamed when the doorbell rings and a kid who has made no effort to wear a costume still wants a fistful of candy.  It’s even worse if he needs a shave. But, to be hauled off to jail?  That’s a little too much.  How about no costume, no candy?

All of this brings up the question… how old is TOO old to trick or treat?  And, what time do you turn out the front door light?  I don’t want to show up too late as a toothless Steven Tyler!

If they all wore costumes, where you wouldn't be able to see them, then you would have 'little' men and women going trick or treating. You would really have the TRICK part of it then!
