If you have a daughter or son in college, or simply living away from home, you know how much their trips back home can mean. No matter how grown up they are, there are some things that remain the same. When our daughter, Christy, first went off to college in New York, she would come home for the occasional weekend visit. She would entertain us with some stories about her room mates and activities.... and, of course, bring along her dirty laundry!
Years later, living in London, and getting her doctorate degree, she is still arriving with…you guessed it…dirty laundry! However, I will admit that is not her standard routine. Just before her flight home last week, she called and said her washing machine had broken while she was packing. She asked if it was ok to bring along some laundry. Ha! Of course it was...just hoped that she wasn’t randomly singled out to get her baggage searched at the airport!
