It is fairly common knowledge that phones, remote controls and door handles are items that you don’t want to touch if you’re trying to avoid nasty germs. Now we can add another culprit to the list. A company that makes antimicrobial products just released a study that will send a chill down the spine of parents of young children. The study has come to the conclusion that restaurant highchairs harbor more bacteria than public toilet seats! UGH!!! After taking swab samples from highchairs in 30 restaurants and also from toilets, the average number of bacteria was 147 per square centimeter. This compared with an average of 8 per square centimeter on the toilet seats. Double UGH!!! I always wondered why my grandmother carried a small can of Lysol with her wherever she went..….spraying down all those doorknobs,etc. before she would touch them! Now I totally understand. Maybe that is why she made it to 101 years old!
