It's Oprah's Fault!

Dr. Phil did it, so why shouldn’t I? Actually, Oprah had it done to Dr. Phil a while back. In front of a live studio audience at Radio City Music Hall, Carl Cwiok, a barber from Danvers, lathered up Dr. Phil and gave the razor a work-out. Unfortunately, Carl was not around when I decided it was time to say goodbye to my Miami Vice/Tom Selleck buddy. The deed was done before my vacation to Bar Harbor. This way I had a little time before going back to work to get used to seeing that guy in the mirror that I had trouble recognizing. However, when I see Dennis Eckersley on NESN….sporting the most spectacular moustache of all….the floodgates burst open with memories of the old ‘stache’! Perhaps I acted too hastily….maybe it’s time for some Josh Beckett chin stubble!

    When you have a 'stache and you're eating an ice cream cone you always get some ice cream dripping off it. When I had one and people would say, "Hey, you've got ice cream on your mustache" I would simply respond, "I'm saving it for later." Actually that line works just as well with spaghetti sauce.
