So This Is What It Looks Like

Not only has the end of the Big Dig spelled the end of an unsightly metal contraption that blighted the Boston skyline for decades, it’s also opened up 15 acres of beautiful green space gracing Beantown. Last weekend, we piled in the family sedan with some old friends to chow down at one of our favorite spots adjacent to Faneuil Hall, which not only offers free parking, but has the best Key Lime pie in Boston ! Afterwards, we made our way through the crowds of tourists in Faneuil Hall to enter the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. We had a relaxing stroll and enjoyed this lovely new area of lush green lawn, wonderful gardens and a great water feature…..with fabulous views of the Custom Tower and skyline. It turned out that my friend had not visited this area for fifteen years … so there was an acre of open space for every year he’d missed out on this lively new section of Beantown. Two young locals asked if we were tourists since my friend was looking up and staring at the new scene so intently. It just goes to show, you can become a visitor in your own backyard! When was the last time you explored the incredible sights that Boston has to offer?
