I see that the inventor of the television remote control, Eugene Polley, has died at age 96. Coincidentally my remote control died... and about that, I'm not sad.  It’s time to hide the remote control, get out in the sunshine and kick my TV habit now that those season finales are finally over. American Idol wrapped up this week, along with Dancing With The Stars and Missing. Thank goodness because I couldn’t handle the demanding schedule of back to back 2 hour specials. Fitting in time to eat, bathe, and brush my teeth was difficult with all those hours sitting on the edge of the sofa in suspense. But at last everything is in place - Phillip Phillips is the new Idol. I wonder if J. Lo will be back?  I can almost dance like DWTS champ Donald Driver.  Whew! I knew all those television-addicted hours weren’t completely wasted! Finally I can leave the box behind and get on with my pathetic life because Summer is on the way. There is gardening to be done,  Bar-B-Q’s to enjoy,and lawns to be mowed. Oh no !  I almost forgot – there’s Red Sox baseball on everyday...and it won't be long until the Summer Olympics!! Where did I put that remote control?
