I was in the big apple all last week with the fam. We wanted to do something a bit different than what we normally do this time of year, which is jet off to a tropical island for that elusive glow from Mr Sun.
I must say we did a ton of stuff, from the 9-11 Memorial to Broadway shows, to Central Park, Statue of Liberty, NBC tour, dinners, it never ended. It was actually exhausting, but very entertaining and fun. Walking around Manhattan, from downtown to midtown to uptown, you tend to get a real good lay of the land.
I kept thinking while in NYC how overwhelmingly humungus it was. You walk down a street and you can't even see the sun cause the buildings are so so tall. There are so many people, and these puppies are always moving real fast. It's like chickens with their heads cut off. It is a great experience, especially the part about it being the city that never sleeps, however there's no place like home. I'm Boston born and bred and still live in Beantown. Boston has character and charm. We're a very special city. Sometimes you have to leave to feel what you're missing.
