Tom Brady's hair

Posted 5/9/2012 10:17:00 AM

Everyone is talking about Tom Brady's new 'do at the Met Gala Ball.  He's the cover boy for the Herald today and on a bunch of other sites yesterday.  My thought is...what's the big deal?!  He's been sporting the metrosexual look for quite some time now, and to be honest, it looks good.  He does however need a good mother's lick on the finger and a c'mere, to fix the stray strands that are sticking up on the side.  Other than that he looks good.  He's approaching the end of his prime, why not have some fun with fashion and youthful looks while ya still can.  I say...too much gel is never enough when it comes to lookin' good!  Have fun, Tom.

Friends

Posted 4/13/2012 9:03:00 AM

This blog is dedicated to my friends.  Recently I went down to Biloxi, MS to visit my oldest and best friend Sara Goodwin.  I can't even really describe in words the warm feeling I got when I saw my best girls face picking me up at the airport.  That familiar face that I've know my whole life hasn't changed a bit, yet has aged at the same rate as mine.  She was so excited to see me...and that made me feel so good.  I was just as excited to see her...

We had so much fun just being in each others company and the conversation was so easy, as if the time we've been apart never happened.  I loved that.  It is the greatest feeling in the world to be among a friend that knows you inside and out and whom you can totally be yourself around.  There are only a ...

It's been a while...

Posted 3/22/2012 10:45:00 AM

It's been a while since I shared a blog, so today seems like a great day to add an entry.  Why?  Because there's so much to talk about!  The weather has been amazing, big shakeups in the sports world, my favorite guy on TV - Steven Tyler, is looking better than ever (I pray that Aerosmith will tour this summer...) and his show American Idol, is better than it has been in recent years, in my opinion.

Let's start with the weather...even though I think that this early warm weather is going to wreak havoc with bugs and mosquitoes later this summer, right now I'm LOVING IT!  I have no problem heading to bed when it's still sorta light outside (yes, getting up earlier to do the news, puts me to bed earlier..around 8pm)  In fact, I absolutley love waking up to the birds!  Who would have thought in March??

Tim Tebow ...

Changes

Posted 3/9/2012 11:32:00 AM

Change is never easy.  But necessary...  I've been talking about cutting my hair, for a change.  It's been a while now that I've had it long, and it's non-unlike me to chop it all off on a whim.  I've been using the wonderful product Ovation Cell Therapy and it's gotten pretty long.  But the spring-ahead time change has made me have spring on the brain, so my thoughts naturally drift towards other changes.

A spring haircut might be just what I need!  How much thought do you put into changing your look?  Do you go out on a whim and change your color or cut?

Let me know your thoughts and if I should be like Nike, and just do it!

It's all about the food

Posted 1/31/2012 9:09:00 AM

So, you've decided to host a party on Super Sunday.  You've got the guest list in order, and who's making the run to the liquor store to stock up on beer and other refreshments.  The next logical question is:  what are you serving?  Food makes or breaks a party and this Sunday is no exception.  There are 2 ways to go on this:  serve ho-hum munchies like chips, dips, pre-made sandwiches, and a vegetable tray (and there's NOTHING wrong with these kinds of foods, I love a good pig out).  Or you could go fancy-schmancy and serve individual pulled pork sandwiches, crabcakes, and a salmon tray.  Either way the food you serve must go along with the company you invite.  Or, if you're like some...serve all liquid ;)

I've been to a few Superbowl parties and from what I remember the menu was a combination of real food and munchie food.  ...

Just right

Posted 1/22/2012 7:40:00 PM

The snow on Saturday was a welcome sight, in my opinion.  I know it's a lot to deal with, but so pretty!  And nothing beats a snowy Saturday when you don't have to work.  You've heard all the weather reports say that our snowfall is way below the average for this time of year, so we're due.

I took the opportunity to go see a movie.  We headed out to Showcase Cinemas Woburn to see The Artist.  What a great, refreshing movie!  The best, most fun I've had at a movie theater in a long time.  The music was outstanding and the story was easy to follow.  The performances were so crisp and bright, I have a new appreciation for actors and their craft.  Go see The Artist and take the kids, too!  They'll love it.  A great movie 'the whole family will love'!!

Resolutions

Posted 1/15/2012 11:09:00 AM

Every year I usually make at least a few resolutions.  Usually they have to do with becoming organized, sticking to my fitness routine and reading more.

For some reason, this year I don't feel like making any resolutions.  I know all the things I have to do to become organized, stay on track with my health and read more.  So why do I need to make a resolution, get bummed out that I'm not sticking to it and then start this merry-go-round again?!

I'm resolving to use some reverse psychology on myself and not make a single resolution.  I'm going to let this year surprise me by seeing how full and enjoyable a year can be with nothing hanging over my head.  No resolutions or promises to break...nothing to live up to.  I'm going to do what I know I should, and try my best everyday without letting myself self-sabotage.  ...

Sexiest Woman

Posted 12/31/2011 12:32:00 PM

We were having a great conversation about Men's Health Magazine and their choice to crown Jennifer Aniston the Sexiest Woman Of All Time.  I agree, and disagree with the choice.  I agree because of the way they rationalized their choice, and disagree because I...well, I disagree!

I'm glad they went with Jennifer over Angelina, and I think that makes a big statement.  I believe what they say about funny and self-assured being sexy, even though, as I said, I don't think Jennifer is The Sexiest Of All Time.

I haven't really given much thought to who is, but because I brought up the subject (!) it would be lame for me not to name a name, right?  So here I go:  Now, this is an old school name...but Rachel Hunter would be a name.  Why?  Well, for starters, she's over 40 and I just read a chain mail and agree with ...

The Rockettes

Posted 12/5/2011 1:41:00 PM

Last week I went to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the World Famous Radio City Rockettes!  A mouthful, I know, but like any good dessert - totally worth it!  And that is exactly what this show is, dessert.  It's showbizz of the highest order with glitzy glammy costumes, babes dancing in unison, a virtual tour through NYC, kids discovering the true meaning of Christmas and Santa himself.

I loved it.  There are a bunch of new features to the show this year, like a 50ft. LED screen that really drives the whole show home.  The new costumes the Rockettes wear each have 3,000 Swarovski crystals!  They're really beautiful and dramatic... and the new dance numbers fit right in line with Rockette precision.  Of course, the old favorites like the parade of the wooden soldiers is nestled in the middle.

All in all, a great show, and I highly ...

Thank Goodness

Posted 11/21/2011 12:31:00 PM

Magic isn't playing Christmas tunes yet.  I know there are stations on the radio dial that are, but I'm glad it's not us...yet.  I've enjoyed hearing Christmas songs in stores and when I'm flipping around on the radio - (a little bit), but wall to wall...too much!!  I'd be sick of Christmas before it's even ever arrived!!!!  So, lemme just say I'm glad to be working at the Best Radio Station in Boston!  Who's with me??

Ryan Reynolds

Posted 11/14/2011 11:16:00 AM

R.I.P.D. has been filming in Boston for a while now.  It stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges.  You'd think that I'd be into the younger, more svelte Ryan.  Not the case at all!  I'd much rather see The Dude known as Jeff Bridges.  I don't have anything against Ryan -  I liked him in the movie he did with Sandra Bullock.  (I think they'd make a great pair even though he's dating Blake Lively.)  He's just not my type.  (I'm more into the long-haired rocker kind of thing....)  So, I'm asking you, the Boston public, if you've seen Ryan around town, met him, shook his hand, waited on his table - is he a good guy?  He seems pretty keep-to-himself, which is why I wonder what people love about him so much.  I know he's a good actor, and he takes good care of himself...so is that it?  If you're a Ryan Reynolds ...

Showbizz randoms

Posted 11/3/2011 5:51:00 AM

Hi friends, I thought I'd take a moment to throw in my 2 cents about some of the entertainment items that have us all talking these days.

The Kardashians - namely the wedding that wasn't.  I don't believe that the wedding was executed solely for tv.  I do, however think there was a 'casting' element to Kris Humphries as the groom.  If you ever watched any of the episodes leading up to Kim's Fairytale Wedding special on E! (just the name - isn't it supposed to be Kim and Kris' Fairytale Wedding??) you could plainly see that they didn't even like each other!  They truly didn't even get along.  It made me cringe.  So, why do I think that the wedding wasn't put on just for tv?  Because I think that Kim really did get caught up in the wedding hoopla, and didn't know how to get out.  She wanted to be on ...

Food Trucks

Posted 10/21/2011 12:35:00 PM

I know there is a food truck festival this weekend at Suffolk Downs, but where do these trucks come from?  And where do they park on a regular basis?  Or is that the hook, they don't have just one place that they park, so they can be mobile and travel to where hungry people are?  I've caught a few episodes of the Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network, but is it really a phenomenon that I just have not caught yet?  I've never seen one!

I was talking with a co-worker who says, "Oh yeah, they're huge...you can always find them at SOWA Sundays on Harrison Ave. in Boston."   I'm on the air here at Magic from 12-4 Sunday's, so I can't get a bite then.  But I'm thinking Fan Hall / Downtown Crossing would be a likely place to find a food truck!  Yeah...that's what I"m gonna ...

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Posted 10/17/2011 12:31:00 PM

This past weekend is what I wait for all year it seems!  I had such a nice afternoon on Saturday.  No jacket, just long sleeve shirt, jeans and I was fine.  I have been sooo sick of the moist humid weather we've been having.  You don't know whether to wear a jacket or not, and if you do you probably don't need the extra layer and could have done with an umbrella instead!  Uhh...

There's magic in the air when the leaves start to change and a brisk wind comes and whips your hair around, and your cheeks get rosy from being outdoors.  It's the best, most wonderful time of the year!

Hope you enjoyed the glorious weather, and even in the fall, it's nice to stop and smell... the leaves!

The Newest Rings

Posted 10/4/2011 11:18:00 AM

The Bruins get their rings today.  What a great day!  I got sucked into the end of their championshiop season and am now proud to say I'm bonafide Bruins fan.
The regular season starts on Thursday, at home....let's go B's!

But tonight is the night.  They've been celebrating all summer and now they'll get to see the glory of their hard work.  In fact, I'll get to see a version of it up close and personal.  Pete Smith, our new promotions guy, is on the media relations team and he's getting a ring!
Here's to another great season!

First day of Fall. Really?

Posted 9/23/2011 12:00:00 AM
This isn't fall weather!  It's more like early spring!  I thought we were done with getting hit by the humidity wall when we walk out the door.

I don't mind extending the warm-ish weather.  A lot of people I talk to don't want the summer to end.  I'm not exactly one of those people - I love autumn.  In fact I love all the seasons.  I know that sounds a bit unrealistic, but I do!  I love the change from one to the next and with it the passage of time.

But I've had it with this sticky weather!  I want to bring out my favorite warm weather clothes, and put away the shorts until I have to get 'em out next year.  Who's with me?

Simon's X Factor

Posted 9/16/2011 12:00:00 AM
I was in the audience for the exclusive world premeire screening of Simon Cowell's new show, The X Factor, and this show has the x factor - whatever it is.

As Simon, Paula, L.A., and Nicole - along with new host Steve Jones - become part of your Wednesday and Thursday night viewing routines on Fox 25 I think you'll agree, this show is special.  No doubt it's the same premise as American Idol, but the X Factor has what Idol does not anymore.  Simply put, that is  Simon Cowell.  He is the ace-in-the-hole, the secret weapon, the x factor of this new show.  All the quips and camaraderie we have all come to love and expect from him are alive and well.  Simon is as Simon as ever.

While doing press for the new show, Simon took his time with each and every media member there.  Didn't show any signs of ...

Back to School

Posted 9/1/2011 12:00:00 AM
Back to school memories are so fun to reminisce about.  I'll never forget the time in junior high when my dad (who LOVES this story) didn't think I brushed my teeth before heading off on the bus.  Well, he was going to teach me a lesson and make me never forget again to brush my pearly whites.

I'm sitting in homeroom at Martinson Junior High, and the next thing I know I get a message over the loud speaker that I have to report to the office.  Never a good thing.

So I walk down the long corridor and see my dad standing in the office talking to the secretary and he has a plastic bag in his hand.  He hands me the bag and tells me to go to the bathroom and "BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!" Right in front of other kids, all the secretaries, teachers...ohmigod...I wanted to die.  I turned ...

What I did on my summer vacation

Posted 8/15/2011 12:00:00 AM
We are so fortunate to live in a part of the country that others come to when they have vacation! I loved just staying home, getting up late, going to bed late, not having a schedule of any kind, and especially not needing another vacation after the one I just took! How often do you come home from a trip and say, "Phew, I need another vacation to recover!"? This past week was great. I had a lot of little things to take care of - one being the purchase of a new vehicle!  So you'll see me driving around in a new Ford Ranger from now on.  I loved my little blue Saturn tho - wish they still made 'em.  I'll take a moment to remember my blue jem of a car every time I see one sparkling down the road...
But hey, time marches on, and I now have my ...

Don't kill me for saying this..

Posted 8/1/2011 12:00:00 AM
I'm sick of the hot weather.  There, I said it!  I'm sick of sweating when I get out of the shower, I'm sick of walking in the sun and sweating, and I'm sick of having to have the fan on me while I sleep to prevent me from sweating!  Maybe I'm painting an unflattering picture of myself.  I don't have a perspiaration problem, in fact I like a good sweat now and then...  But it was just this morning that I said to myself...okay, I'm ready for the wind down.  I know it's not going to happen for another solid month, but Mother Nature - whenever you're ready to give it to us, I'm ready to accept it.  I guess that's it... when she's ready is when it'll come.  In the meantime...got a popsicle?

I love that smell

Posted 7/20/2011 9:11:00 AM
As you know, I get up early.  Earlier than most .  And I get to walk out the door on my way to the station at this particular time of the morning when the sky is starting to wake up.  It's not quite there yet, but it will be soon.  You can see the dark of night receding and the light of day creeping up.  The clouds are usually in a fragmented puzzle pattern, with grey and white bulges making the line blur between night and day beautiful.  It's at this time of the morning that there is a certain smell in the air.  It's a little earthy, a little sweet, maybe even a little salty, but it's definetly welcoming and serene.  I love that smell!
Take the time to step outside early one morning and you'll smell what I'm sayin'!

School's out for the summer!

Posted 6/28/2011 8:21:00 AM
Can you remember how much fun today would have been if you were 10 again?  It's the last day of school for Boston Public and the first day of summer fun!  Man, those were the days.  Not having to think past getting home for lunch.

When my brothers and I were kids we would be outside all day, riding our bikes to the beach and playing with the neighborhood kids.  My best friend Christa and her sisters had an in-ground swimming pool, so many days were spent there doing jackknifes, cannonballs and swan dives off the diving board.

We also loved riding bikes around our circular neighborhood with a huge hill, so you could go wicked fast!  It was too scary for me to skateboard or rollerblade on that hill, although the boys did.

Campfires were always fun too.  Sticks would be littered around our yard with ...

What qualifies a "sports fan"?

Posted 6/8/2011 12:00:00 AM
It's perfectly fine.  There's nothing that says you have to watch the whole game in order to be a fan.  Sometimes you can't watch all 14 innings of a baseball game or, every second of the Celtics...but I'm still a fan!  So what I'm saying is that there's nothing wrong with watching the start of the Bruins game...and then switching over to something else.

Yes, it is the Stanley Cup Finals...yes, this is very exciting...but we recap the games for you in the news with Gay Vernon...your friends and family will fill you in, and you still get the excitement of watching the game while getting in your tv faves.

That's what I do.

So when you've had your fill of the game tonight, switch over to TNT and watch Franklin and Bash at 9.  It's a great new series starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer as ...

Franklin and Bash

Posted 5/31/2011 12:00:00 AM
Finally the series premiere of Franklin and Bash is here!  Actually it airs on Wednesdays at 9 on TNT, and stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Saved by the Bell) and Breckin Meyer (Clueless). Those are the roles I know and love them from, but they've done a lot of other work, and I think this new show is the best yet!  It's a fun, lighthearted show about two work hard-play hard lawyers that get snatched up by a big-time LA law firm.  This big LA firm is run by Stanton Infeld (Malcolm McDowell - Alex from "A Clockwork Orange"!!) Ya, you remember that movie...wow, to see him on the screen again is like doing the time-warp.  He looks great, if grey...okay white!!

TNT sent me out to Santa Monica to meet the cast and schmooze with the creator and writers...which I did!!  Check out my pics and interview on my personality ...

Let's look on the bright side

Posted 5/19/2011 12:00:00 AM

Oh this weather...it's all we can talk about.  Well, I say change the subject!  It could be worse...as our friends around the country are experiencing at an all too high cost.  I do get it though, we haven't seen this much gloomy weather in a long time.  It dampens spirits and your hair when you step out.  On the other hand, this moist air is supposed to be good for your complexion...

And if we didn't have such a soggy spring, the grass wouldn't be so green, the sun wouldn't feel so good, and we wouldn't have a sure-fire subject to talk about with our co-workers!!  ;)

Happy almost Friday and somewhat sunny weekend.

So...how do I look?

Posted 5/6/2011 11:08:00 AM
It's amazing what a little peroxide, makeup and new dress can do for a girl!  I just got back from my Style Network makeover courtesy of "How Do I Look?"  It was sooo nice to be personally attended to and pampered.
We went backstage and saw them tape the 'big reveal' of a participant on the show.  That was really fun!  Then we went to the loft where they actually tape the show and we got to go through all the jewelery and clothes!  We saw the 'eeew tube' where they suck up the old clothes from fashion victims across the country and then donate them to charity.  That's one of the great aspects of "How Do I Look?" ..they donate the..wearable??..old clothes to Dress for Success and other charities empowering women.  But the other best part of going out to LA was meeting Jeannie Mai.  She is a wonderfully ...

Changes...can you feel them too?

Posted 4/28/2011 12:00:00 AM
I was downtown yesterday at the Park Street T stop, and as I was walking by the empty flower beds I started to smell a certain odor in the stuffy spring air.  It was fertilizer and mulch from grounds-trucks getting the beds ready for flowers!  Pretty soon the whole Common will be filled with birds...bees...and flowers too!  So nice to see positive and welcoming sights of change.  It sure has felt like spring for a couple weeks, now it'll finally look like it!

Wedding...what wedding?

Posted 4/18/2011 11:51:00 AM
Yes, I just got back from a wonderful trip across the pond to England.  I was visiting my best bud from high school and meeting her daughter for the first time.  Oh what joy.
She lives just outside of London near the seaside town of Brighton, in Hove.  Lovely.  We spent our days going to the park, taking a hike on the seven sisters mountain range and visting her mom in Chichester.  There we had proper fish and chips - just salt and malt, no tartar sauce.  (I like tartar sauce, I think I'll have to bring my own next time).  So you probably want to know what the excitement level is regarding The Wedding.  And I can tell you there is no excitment ...on any level!  Nope...not even a little bit!!  Maybe there will be once it gets to the week of the wedding, but 3 weeks out there was ...

Hair

Posted 3/28/2011 12:12:00 PM
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius!  I believe!!  HAIR is back on stage at the Colonial Theater through April 10th and I loved loved loved it!!  What a great, uplifting, happy, well done show.  There was a lot of humor, a lot of fun songs, and a little -  or maybe even a lot - of nudity!!  (It's really only a 20 second dimly lit scene, but if you have good seats...!! ;)
And the clothes..how fun!!  I'd love to know where they got all those tie-dyes...HAIR was an exhiiarating night out, and if you're on the fence about buying tickets...here's your shove!  Enjoy :)

Childhood memories

Posted 3/15/2011 12:00:00 AM
This blog entry will make my mom and whole family smile.  My favorite, favorite, favorite book / story as a child was Bambi.  I loved the movie and the book went with me everywhere.  I had it read to me so many times that I memorized each page by the drawings and knew if there were sentences skipped in an effort to make bedtime come a little quicker ;)  I still remember making my mom, or aunt Suzie or Nancy, skip over the part where Bambi's mom dies.  I couldn't stand to see the drawings on the page, hear the words read to me, or see it on the screen.  It was like that part never existed...  Well, all those memories came back to me in a flood recently when I picked up the new restored version of Bambi on Blu Ray.  It was released from the Disney vault and I ...

An Idea for School Vacation Week...

Posted 2/23/2011 12:00:00 AM
Very exciting times over at the Museum of Science.  They just reopened the Planetarium and I was there for the debut of Undiscovered Worlds:  The Search Beyond Our Sun using the new state-of-the-art Zeiss Starmaster ~ one of two in the United States.
It was sooo cool, and seemed to bring outerspace within reach!  The projector sits in the middle of the room and with no trace of lightbeams, brings stars and planets to flickering life.  Parents, this is a warm indoor activity you and your kids will be talking about for a long time.  Enjoy and be dazzled just like I was!

Sail away with me...

Posted 2/14/2011 1:33:00 PM
Well, week 2 of my Disney Dream postcards was a huge success!  I had some great responses to my videos, especially the sexy spa one!  I felt like a million dollars leaving that hot stone massage.  And I swear it didn't ...but if it did cost a million dollars, I'd pay 2!!  Seriously that was a big highlight of the trip.  There are so many fun activities to do that getting a massage was the perfect reminder that your on vacation while on the Dream.
Starting on Monday ~ my postcard that day was eating at the Enchanted Garden.  A great French inspired restaurant, where the food had that special touch of ...je nais se quoi ;)  I ended up ordering 2 entrees (because you can) and 2 desserts (because you can)!!  The best part of going on a Disney Cruise is that they feature 'rotational dining'..which means that you eat at ...

Details of my Dream

Posted 2/7/2011 12:00:00 AM
We gave away our first trip aboard the Disney Dream today and our winner was SOOO excited...and I was SOOO excited for her!!  Disney is top notch and details are what they excel at.  I just marveled at the artwork - some of it is interactive, the chandelier when you enter is so beautiful and grand, even the carpet is luxurious!!  Besides being beautiful the service is spectacular, you really feel like you're away from it all with world-class accommodations and service.
To chat about my postcards for a bit:  Nassau is great to get out and walk around for a bit.  They give you something like 5 hours to explore the island, or just be on the ship with peace and quiet.  But def get out and walk around a bit and try some local fare.  My stateroom, was big actually and very cool...they've implemented new technology so the ...

The braids are still in my hair and sun tan on my face...I just can't let go of the amazing time I had aboard the Disney Dream.  Disney Cruise Line just added a 3rd ship to their fleet and I was there for the inaugural sailing.  From the moment I stepped on the brand new ship, I was blown away by her grandeur and majesty.  She's a beautiful ship, reminiscent of the golden age of sailing.  Dark Blue hull, sleek yellow lines...you feel so special and welcomed.  So now onto the fun stuff...what did I do?!  Everything!!!  I had SO much fun on the AquaDuck - the only water coaster at sea...I went swimming in the pools everyday, I ate and ate and ate delicious freshly prepared food, I relaxed on the veranda in my stateroom, I danced in the nighclubs, met a lot of new friends from all over the world, ...

Steven on Idol

I loved it!  American Idol is back, and my man was the highlight of the debut of season 10!!  Didn't ya think?!  As soon as he started banging on the desk accompanying the contestant on Ray Charles...I knew this seaon will be a blast!  I have to say I did miss a little of the comraderie of Paula Simon and Randy...but Steven, JLo and Randy are a pretty fun trio.

So Much To Say

Wow...I just slipped back to high school singing so much to say so much to say so much to say...!
Vacation was terrific.  I didn't do much but stay home and do my own thing.  It's amazing how much falls to the wayside when you work a full-time job and put things off....  I feel rested and ready to TCB!
What did you think of the Golden Globes?  I enjoyed the show, it's feels so relaxed and un-stuffy compared to the Oscars.  I loved Olivia Wilde's dress...she was stunning....all the guys look the same to me.  As far as the awards go...I was so happy that Christian Bale won for The Fighter ~ incredible performance and well deserved.  But the Social Network?  Best Picture??  Really?!  Guess I'll have to see it...As far as the host ~  I have to mostly agree with the critics negative reviews for Ricky Gervais.  He was a ...

Monday starts are the worst

Posted 1/4/2011 1:01:00 PM
We all know you can't start a diet on Monday...Tuesday is much better!  I'm using that same logic for my New Year's Resolution to get in shape!  Yes, I had big plans yesterday to get out and exercise, but I stayed in and got some things organized in my apartment instead.  Which was a good thing 'cause I got really busy over the holidays and needed some time to just putz around the house.  So today is day 2, because you can't count the weekend either....and I'm going to get out there and take a nice long walk and start my New Year on a Tuesday!  Best of luck to everyone trying to stick with their plans :)

The Steve Katsos Show

Posted 12/21/2010 12:00:00 AM
Earlier this month I taped an episode of The Steve Katsos Show and boy, was that a lot of fun!  Steve is our resident Jay Leno and his show is just like the Tonight Show.  Steve does a monologue each night with guests and musical acts.  But what makes the Steve Katsos Show stand out, is that his whole crew is comprised of volunteers!  It's a quality show that is as professional as a network program produced right here in Arlington!  So where can I see this great show?  Click here for showtimes
My segment will air sometime in January, but you can click here and watch it now!
Thank you Steve Katsos and everyone involved with the production of your show.  You're doing great work and I was honored to be a part of it!  Go Greek Boy Go!!

See this movie!

Posted 12/10/2010 1:22:00 PM
Did you see Chronicle this week when they featured the making-of "The Fighter?"  It was a great program and they interviewed the director of a short movie about the boxing brothers from Lowell.  He said that "The Fighter" was really about the relationship between the brothers, their family and their subsequent fall and redemption with boxing only being the backdrop.  And it's true.  The Figher is a great movie and, so fun to watch as a local.
I'll say this here and now..Christian Bale will be at least nominated, if not win for his portrayal as Dickie Ecklund.  He's incredible.
I was uplifted at the end, the true mark of a great film.  See it and let me know what you think!

The Fighter

Posted 12/6/2010 1:55:00 PM
I'm going to see a screening of "The Fighter" tonight starring Mark Wahlberg.  I've been looking forward to this for a while, especially since I met the real Irish Micky Ward.  He was playing in Milan Lucic's Rock and Jock Charity Softball game this past summer.  Micky was a very reserved quiet guy and I was intrigued by his story.  Now we'll all get to see his story on the big screen!  I'll let you know what I think of the movie...but more importantly the accents!  Uh, isn't it sooo annoying when Hollywood puts on a Boston accent?  Somehow I think this movie will escape all that and just focus on the story of Lowell's champ.

Here's a pic of Micky, me, and Shawn Thornton

Christmas Lights

Posted 12/2/2010 12:00:00 AM
When I leave for work in the 'morning' it's still dark outside, and usually a bit colder than during the day.  At the end of my apartment complex there is one little tree that sits unassumingly in the middle of a grass mall.  For the holidays it's decorated with the old-school big bulb, color lights!  It looks sooo nice.
That little burst of light in the middle of early morning darkness, sets such a joyful, happy, holiday tone for the day.  I just love it.
Even if you don't have kids, or just live alone...decorate a bit for the holidays and set yourself up for a great day too!

A Thanksgiving heirloom

Posted 11/23/2010 12:21:00 PM
Who doesn't love Thanksgiving?  No gifts, no fancy clothes, no expectations...(other than to get along, right?)  Only food, football, family and friends..okay, so the Macy's parade too.. to keep you busy on the big day.  However, as we all learned in school, it's a holiday to celebrate blessings and give thanks for the riches in life.  One of the traditions I love is that each person at our dinner table takes a turn to say what their thankful for.  Thinking back it would be nice to remember what was going on from year to year - what people were thankful for.  And that's when I came across an article about creating a Thanksgiving family heirloom.
All you need are a few pens or sharpies and a tablecloth.  Ask everyone in the family to jot down what was going on in their life and what they were thankful for on the tablecloth, and then ...

Bieber Fever!

Posted 11/16/2010 1:26:00 PM
Justin Bieber and his hair hit the TD Garden tonight, part of his "My World" tour.  Now, I'm not going but I wish all of his fans a great time!!  I think he's the real deal in a sea of fabricated pop stars.
He has charisma x10 and really seems like a good kid.  He's clean cut, has a cool sense of style, and can really sing.  He's not trying to be too-sexual for his age, and has made bubblegum music cool again.
Every so often an artist will come along that makes you take notice, despite the fact that he rose to fame on fickle youtube.  I think this kid is here to stay.
So to all heading to the Garden tonight..have a great time!!!

You're right Nancy...

Posted 11/5/2010 1:14:00 PM

There are just too many holidays that revolve around candy!  I'm getting sick of the leftovers that have been in my house all week, not to mention the candy brought in from co-workers!  I'm supposed to be starting my new life on Monday - and I'm wondering how I'll do it with all these sweets!

My new life is one of bootcamp exercise 3 days a week, and cutting out the crap 7 days a week!  I want to fit into my winter clothes, so drastic measures need to be taken!  Are you with me ladies?!

Back to the candy...it does seem like there will just be no relief until next summer, when all the cook-outs ramp up again.  I did learn one good tip from the interviews we do on Morning Magic from the folks at Yahoo Shine..instead of having a candy jar at your desk, or home, put ...

Do you feel bad for Randy?

Posted 11/2/2010 9:02:00 AM
I could be alone here...but yes, I do!  I know he's made himself a small fortune playing in the NFL, and doing press and interviews are all part of being a professional athlete, But Randy, so is shutting your fat mouth!  You get paid the big bucks for all those things, including being a great wide receiver.
I watched his press conference after the game and thought, "Gee, he's heaping an awful lot of praise on the Patriots."  Guess the Vikings thought so, too.  I understand how frustrated he must have been, being on the losing team after playing for a team he knew a lot about.  But there's a lot more to football than what happens on the field.  And that's true in any profession, I think.
Still I feel bad for him.  He was just being real and it got him in trouble, once again.

I love Halloween

Posted 10/24/2010 12:00:00 AM
I was off on Friday and went down to Virginia to visit my aunt, Nancy.  We had a great time catching up and of course shopping ;)  But one of the other activities we did was attend Howl-o-Scream at Busch Gardens...  It was a lot of fun!  There were guys that jumped out at you with chainsaws (I don't think they actually worked, but the sound was sure loud!!) and they had the smoke machines on full blast for the right ambience.  There were ghosts hanging from wires all over the park and it really made it feel spooky and like Halloween.  But not all the screams came from ghosts and goblins...no no, there was plenty of screaming atop Griffon their newest rollercoaster!  It has 2 huge lose-your-stomach drops and went wicked fast...I loved it!!
Now that I saw all that, I'm hungry for more.  Next stop for me ...Spooky ...

Malt Vinegar!!

Posted 10/13/2010 12:34:00 PM
I was one of the thousands that braved Route 1 to get to the Topsfield Fair over the weekend.  It was great, and I was really glad I went..although next year I'll take Route 1 all the way instead of 95!!  (I sat in traffic for over 40 minutes waiting to park!!)  But once inside it was one of the nicest family-friendly fairs I've ever been to.  There weren't a ton of teenagers running around, and it seemed pretty clean!  Even the agricultural  exhibits were tidy and fun to walk in and out of.  That's what I really go for..besides the food ;)  I enjoy walking in and out of the stables, checking out the mammoth vegetables and of course stopping by the bee tent to get a fresh honey stick!  Which leads me to the discussion of malt vinegar...it's malt vinegar....not white vinegar that goes on fair fries!!!  I ...

Rock of Ages

Posted 10/8/2010 12:37:00 PM
I didn't want to go at first.  I'm not sure I had a clear idea of what Rock of Ages would be, but I was pretty sure it wasn't for me.  Boy, was I wrong!!  Rock of Ages, the musical starring Constantine Maroulis, had me from the first screaming guitar lick.  It's hilarious, a little edgy..but more importantly it ROCKS!  It's 2 solid hours of arena rock bands like Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benetar, Poison, Whitesnake and more.
It was a total 80's extravaganza...the fashion, the dance, the humor, it was all there.  If you know anyone who attaches a chain to their jeans belt loops...take them to see this musical..they'll love you for it and probably take you out for a drink afterwards!  Rock of Ages is at the Colonial Theater thru the 17th.

C'mon BC!

Posted 10/4/2010 9:36:00 AM
To say it was a let down would be an understatement.  The BC ND game at The Heights on Saturday was enough to make you cry.  I think just about every receiver on the Eagles offense must have eaten a  Butterfinger before the game..there were so many dropped balls!  This was not the way to make an impression on a national audience.  And to add insult to injury there were a ton of A listers at the game!  BC grad and Hollywood star Chris O'Donnell was there, as well as Dan Koppen and Mark LeVoir.
However, it was a fun night for the Giles family as my brother Zack is a  2004 Notre Dame grad and former center for the Fighting Irish, and Austin is a 2009 Boston College graduate and former defensive end for the Eagles.  So a good time was had by ..mostly all!

Katy Perry taped a segment for Sesame Street where she and Elmo sing a kid-friendly version of her hit song Hot N Cold.  Elmo is wearing no clothes as usual, and Katy is wearing almost no clothing, as usual.  This video was scrapped and will not be broadcast because parents think her outfit is too revealing for Sesame Street.  I'm not a parent.  Let me make that clear.  But my feeling is that she had to have walked past a few writers and producers of Sesame Street with that outfit on before actually getting filmed, and if they didn't see too much of a problem with it.................
On the other hand it was a little racy.  She should have had better sense than to appear on a show targeting kids under 6, wearing a bustier.
That being said, how would we recognize her in cotton t-shirt and no makeup?  She must ...

Dan Justin said it best..read his blog!  I agree, fall is my favorite season too, and for so many reasons.  The air feels clean and refreshing...the leaves are breathtaking..and it's a chance for a new beginning.  In the morning (or middle of the night) when I get up...ya, I guess 3:00 is still the night (!)  But it's so nice to get up now, and not need to take a second shower after moving around for a few minutes!  The air feels so fresh and has a different smell.  It actually makes me want to get out of bed and start my day!!  Another thing I love is that just when I've worn all my summer clothes, am done with flip flops and sandals, and can't eat another burger or dog off the grill...it's September and time to pull out the warmer clothes - a whole new wardrobe!! yay!!  The change ...

So what?

Posted 9/10/2010 12:29:00 PM
There's a new movie out today "I'm Still Here."  It's Joaquin Phoenix's 'documentary' about his foray into becoming a rapper.  This movie got me so mad, that only now 4 days after seeing it, can I actually talk about it without my blood boiling.
Back in 200? when Joaquin showed up on Letterman looking like a homeless man in a tailored suit, I knew that him quitting acting to become a rapper was a hoax and all he was really doing was drumming up publicity.  Well, the proof of my speculation can now be seen on the big screen, at a theater near you.  But be warned...if you see this movie you will lose 2 solid hours of your life, that you'll never be able to get back.  That is of course if you stay for the whole thing...
What got me so infuriated is that it felt like one big episode of Punk'd ...

Green nail polish

These past couple of days have been a great start to the week, and it looks like it'll end on an even better note.  I'm going with a few friends from work to see the return of Wicked, on Thursday.  I'm really really excited to see it again, for the first time.  Let me explain...I went to see Wicked in New York on Broadway a few years ago.  Had a great time, but it was a whirlwind weekend and by the time our scheduled performance started at 8:30pm on a Friday (with no nap ;) I was exhausted!  I loved seeing Wicked, but I was wicked tired and would have loved to have seen it when I was in a better frame of mind....Ya get me?  So to celebrate I painted my nails a wicked-green and can't wait to see the show everyone is talking about again, for the first time!  Have you ...

Rainy Days and Mondays

Posted 8/23/2010 1:39:00 PM
I'm not complaining!  It's a welcome change to the usual "get out and enjoy the nice weather" you feel so often in New England.  But really, hasn't this been a blessed summer for weather?  June was spectacular, July was great also ~ hot but great, and August has been super too.  We need this rain for a lot of different reasons, and I think it's okay to make one of them a break from the fun!!  Haha.

And did anyone else go see Petty over the weekend?  He played Thursday and Saturday at the Comcast Center, and this what I saw:

Listen to Her Heart
You Don't Know How It Feels
I Won't Back Down
Free Fallin'
Oh Well (Fleetwood Mac cover)
Mary Jane's Last Dance
Carol (Chuck Berry cover)

"So...how was it??!!"

Posted 8/16/2010 1:07:00 PM
AWESOME!  Aerosmith and J. Geils Band at Fenway Park was a great concert..could have been epic, but it still was a great night.  The fact that it was a Saturday, and a great weather Saturday, made anything seem possible...
So...how was it?  A solid performance from both of our homegrown bands...but Peter Wolf and Geils stole the show...they did!!  And that's coming from an Aerosmith fan!  (But really I'm a music fan 'cause I was at the J. Geils Band reunion show in '99 at Great Woods, so I love 'em all!)  They opened with First I Look at the Purse - classic great choice, and then for the next 2 hours it was a House Party at the Pahk!  Peter was jumping around on stage like a teenager (someone give him a sandwich..he's too thin!!), running around the park and into the audience, and generally basking in the Boston Love!  By the way..thanks ...

And she's out!

Posted 8/8/2010 4:13:00 PM

I had a great time playing in Milan Lucic's Rock and Jock Charity Softball game on Friday night in Lowell, but my ankle..not so much.  I got on first base almost after killing Rick Middleton - oh yeah...!  I didn't mean to hit him!  I was swinging at almost every pitch, and when it got to a full count..I swung and hit that ball right into Rick's chest!  Oh mi goodness...  I felt so bad, but had to run out the play!!  So I got onto first base and then slid into second, spraining my ankle pretty bad.  It's all swollen and black and blue...my karma for hitting Rick, I suppose.  He was so nice, and thankfully wasn't hurt.  We sure had a lot of fun.  Tim Thomas, Shawn Thornton, Reggie Lemelin, Jon Siglaet, Max Lane, Eric Flaim, Brandon Yip, Cole Wright, Joe Haggerty were also there part of the ...

They've Got What It Takes

Posted 7/20/2010 2:08:00 PM
If Steven, Joe, Brad, Joey and Tom have to be out there with stitches, bandages and hospital beds (with scarves tied around the posts) they'll be there to rock Fenway Park!!!  They'll be just F.I.N.E!  This band has been the subject of more injury articles than concert reviews lately, and as a die-hard Aerosmith fan I kind of wish the media would Let the Music do the Talkin'!  I mean, yes they are getting older (as we all are), but why does every mention of the band make it seem like they're going to take a Permanent Vacation??  I know it's not all that far into the past, but the Monkey seems to be off Steven's Back, and they kick off the west coast leg of their tour this weekend so the Train will keep A Rollin' all the way to Cali and back to Boston!  They gotta keep in touch with Mama ...

Quintessential Summer Spot

Posted 7/9/2010 9:10:00 AM
The Cape!  I must say, growing up on the South Shore in Marshfield I didn't go to The Cape all that much, never really.  It was too far and I had Humarock!!  But I've been taking trips down there this summer and I'm so glad I have.  The Cape is truly unique, and has it's own brand of magic.  A really special part of Massachusetts.  The beaches are quiet, peaceful and clean.  And on the day I went, warm too!  The water is a pretty green blue and the sand is white.  Sandcastles are everywhere and kites fly above.  What a great place to go with your family or with friends.  It's always a few degrees cooler and the pace slower.  I really don't have any advice for you on where to go, that's entirely up to you...but you must not leave The Cape without eating some ice cream.  A very cape-y thing ...

Hi friends!  I'll be out and about tomorrow night hosting a viewing party for the new TNT series "Rizzoli and Isles".  It's a set-in-Boston crime drama featuring Angie Harmon as Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as medical examiner Maura Isles, and based on the book series by best-selling author Tess Gerritsen.  The series premiere is Monday July 12 at 10pm on TNT...here is some press material about the show:

RIZZOLI & ISLES follows Boston detective Jane Rizzoli (Harmon) and medical examiner Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander), complete opposites and good friends who solve crimes and bust some of Boston’s most notorious criminals. Growing up at opposite ends of the economic spectrum, the two remain strikingly different from one another in many ways. Memphis Beat

Posted 6/22/2010 1:27:00 AM
Well, here I am back from one trip and onto another!  I just got back from Memphis, where I spent the weekend hanging with the stars of the upcoming show on TNT Memphis Beat.  What a memorable trip. Ya know, you connect with some cities and you don't with others...I connected to Memphis, big time!!  I loved it!  We toured Graceland, I saw as much as I could in one day...and still didn't see it all!  I loved loved loved being in the place Where Elvis Lives, and just being in his space.  What a moving place...I cried at the end when you came out to his mediation garden, that also is his final resting place.  I must go back, and take my momma!
We also went to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, took a ride on the River Boat Queen, and were treated first class by TNT.  ...

Hawaii

Posted 6/16/2010 2:36:00 PM
What a great vacation!  Hawaii is just paradise and I got to spend 7 days there.  My aunt Nancy took me and we had the greatest time.  We stayed on Ford Island in the Navy Lodge and were near the Pearl Harbor Memorial, USS Arizona, and all the historic buildings from that World War II era.
There is nothing about Hawaii that I don't love, but some of the things I really do love ~ the vegetation, the smells, the fresh fruits, the perfumed air..  It's sooo lush and green and just plain pretty!  Great place for a girl!  You feel good, you look good, you smell good when you're in Hawaii, there is nothing about that place I don't adore!  Please have a look at my pics and enjoy.  You must go there someday, if you haven't been already...

Change is not easy

Posted 6/3/2010 10:59:00 AM
Well, thanks for joining me again on my blog..I know it's been a few days since my last entry.  I've been busy getting ready for a couple big trips!  More about those later...

On Tuesday I said on-air that I've found a new tv show called One Big Happy Family.  Well, the one big reason I love it is because it's the truth.  It follows the obese Coles family on their journey toward healthy lifestyles.  It's not easy to change your ways, in fact I think it's the hardest thing in the world.  The Coles family is bravely showing America what an obese family look like, how they act, and the challenges they face.  They're also showing America that it doesn't happen quickly.  You need to take it day by day, meal by meal, choice by choice.  I think that's important.  It's not easy and it doesn't happen overnight.
If you're ...

Boxes, boxes, and more boxes

Posted 5/25/2010 1:00:00 PM
Boy, moving is a hassle huh!  I moved into my new place over the weekend, and I'm still walking in and around paths of boxes and bags.  Rrrr!  But it takes a lot of time to go through everything, sort out the things you don't want, and then put all the things you do want in their new place.  At least this will FORCE me to weed out the 100 half bottles of lotion, hair products, body spray and other primping products I have...maybe!! ;)  It's hard to get rid of your stuff, right?
And you have to deal with the cable/internet/phone hook-up...I could go on..moving stinks!
But it's all part of my new life and it's going to get busy these next few weeks!I'm getting ready to head down to Memphis next weekend for a press junket for the new TNTseries Memphis Beat!!!!  I'm so psyched for this I ...

Move-in day!

Posted 5/17/2010 9:15:00 AM
Well, the Giles family is all about new beginnings this summer.  My brother Zack launched his first boat on Friday, and today I'm moving into my new apartment.  It's much closer to the station, and the ocean.  I can't see it out my window, but I sure can smell the salty air, which is just as good.  I feel like I've been talking about moving for so long now, but today is the day!  Wish me luck that it all gets packed up and moved with no problems...

One of the things I love about living New England is the change of season.  Chilly spring days lead to warm sunny summers, that then give way to the colors of fall and back to snow again in the winter.  It's so essential to feel the change of season along with the passage of time, I think.  You look forward to ...

Launch day!

Posted 5/14/2010 1:20:00 PM
Today my brother is launching his new boat down in Green Harbor - a 30ft 1989 Wellcraft Monaco Express Cruiser!!!  How exciting!  Zack has never even been in a row boat, and now he has this impressive ship!  This is going to be a great summer of fun, sun and sea.  Just heading down there now to take a look, and I'll report back and let you know how she looks.  Assuming she's a she..most boat are, aren't they?  Anyway, I forget the name!  Well, the boat came from someone else so he's keeping the name.  Good goin' Zack!

Back in the saddle, I hope

Okay, so I haven't blogged in a while.  When Mike Addams notices and nudges me to get writing, you know it's been more than a few days and it has.  My last blog entry had to do with American Idol and Dancing with the Stars, how they've all turned into popularity contests instead of performance competitions.  I still feel that way, even more so now that my girl Siobhan Magnus was voted off of Idol.  I kind of knew it was coming, but still that girl can sing and she has more talent in her tattoo than in all of Aaron Kelly!!
Another tv subject I could talk about all day is Deadliest Catch.  I love that show, and really look forward to Tuesday's.  I was on the edge of my couch last week watching the rescue of Jake Anderson, how about you??!  I didn't really think he would be ...

Are they all just one big popularity contest?

Posted 4/28/2010 1:47:00 PM
Last night on Dancing with the Stars it was Jake Pavelka and Niecy Nash in the bottom two.  Jake was the one sent flying home.. I have nothing against Niecy, love her actually, but between the two I thought Jake was the stronger dancer.  Which leads me to think that Dancing with the Stars, and American Idol, all competion shows really, are just popularity contests.  We are supposed to be voting for the best at whatever the competition is, to stay on and week by week find the best.  But that doesn't happen.  We vote who we like, and the competition at hand takes a back seat.  I know, it's not like this hasn't ever been brought up before, but it's frustrating to watch a competition show turn into a populairty contest!  Is anyone with me on this?

So I was wrong...

Posted 4/22/2010 8:42:00 AM
So last night I thought it would be Aaron Kelly to get the boot on Idol, instead it was teflon Tim Urban.  I'm not shocked, because Tim's time certainly was about to be up, but what I was shocked about was that Casey James was in the bottom 2.  Siobhan, I'm still pulling for you girl!!

Aaron Kelly, sorry buddy

Posted 4/21/2010 12:51:00 PM
Most of the time I do agree with the judges on American Idol, but I just do not see what they see in Aaron!  His performance last night of "I believe I can fly" was so lame in my opinion, and everyone of them from Randy to Simon thought it was great!  I just don't get it...Another thing I don't understand is what they have against Siobhan!  I love her, think she's great, and just about every week she gets shut down by the judges!  Yes, she's kooky and off center, but you cannot deny this girl has a unique vocal ability and a lot of prescence on stage.  Her butterflies didn't distract me anymore than Crystal's dreadlocks.  I hope America pulls through for Siobhan, she more than anyone has the vocal chops to win this singing competition called American Idol.

Posted 4/16/2010 12:49:00 PM
I must say that usually I look forward to Friday for all kinds of fun reasons, but today, I'm looking forward to it for a boring reason...to just relax and catch up on some sleep!  This whole weekend I'll be staying in and slowly packing my things because I'm moving next month!  Not far, but closer to work (great for that 3am alarm) and to a whole new neck of town!  I'm really excited about my new life and cannot wait to weed out my junk and start new!  Isn't that what spring is all about?  So if you're doing some spring cleaning yourself, you're not alone.

Deadliest Catch is back

Yippee!  It's Tuesday...my favorite day of the week, because Deadliest Catch is back tonight at 9 on Discovery.
I can't believe it was one year ago that I was out in Seattle for CatchCon, hanging with all the Captains.  They are just the best guys, really the salt of the earth.
I'll never forget meeting Phil Harris, and the story he told.
He recalled being somewhat of a problem teenager and having a run in with his guidance councelor.  This guidance councelor told him to hang it up, you might as well just quit school, you'll never make anything of yourself. (some guidance huh)  Well, a few years down the line Phil starting working on crab boats and was making a ton of money.  Then one day he noticed a FOR SALE sign on the front lawn of that guidance councelors house.  He found out the asking price, and then went ...

Go BC!

Wow! The BC Eagles Hockey team has another championship under their belts!!  They out-scored the Wisconsin Badgers 5-0 Saturday night making this our 3rd win in 10 years.  Goalie John Muse had an impressive game becoming only the fourth goaltender to record a shutout in the national title game.  And it almost didn't happen!  Muse persevered through off-season hip surgery and then found himself as the backup goaltender behind rookie Parker Milner when the Hockey East playoffs began back on March 12.

And, stay tuned my brother Austin Giles, former defensive end and tackle for the BC Eagles Football team, is getting ready for the NFL draft next weekend!

Date Night was great!

So, I went to see Date Night the other night, and it was really funny.  Mark Whalberg will make you hot under the collar and Tina and Steve will keep you engaged.  Recommended for an easy-going, not too serious 'date night' of your own!

And tickets go on-sale for the Aerosmith J. Geils Band "Double Play" concert at Fenway April 17..(that is if there are any left after I get a hold of ticketmaster!! ;)
Check out the Morning Magic interviews for our chat with Tom Hamilton here

Congratulations, and Go Eagles!  The BC Hockey team will take on the Wisconsin Badgers Saturday at 7pm in the NCAA Championship game

And my boys are back!  Deadliest Catch returns for season 6 on Tuesday at 9...I've seen the premiere and whoa..this is going to be a big season.  RIP Phil Harris

I'm going to see Date Night!

I'm going to see a screening of the new Tina Fey / Steve Carrell movie Date Night!!  I think it looks hilarious...let you know Friday at 5:40 and 7:40!!

By the way Tina will be hosting SNL this weekend and you betcha...she'll skewer Sarah Palin again!!

And Southland fans, TNT is running a marathon starting tonight at 5pm leading up to the season finale at 10pm

Today in Amanda's World: 4/2

Red Sox are opening their season at night this year...I know I'm in the minority, but I don't mind! I know it's a big get-out-of-work free card for most fans, but at least there will be a lot to talk about with family at the dinner table! I predict a win for home team 7-4 Go Sox!

Can't forget to tape Life on Discovery at 8pm, this Sunday's show is dedicated to Birds and Creatures of the Deep!! I love all the Ocean and Aquatic animals, my favorite! What a spectacular series.

And I can't contain my excitement anymore Aerosmith at Fenway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you with me, this will be THE CONCERT OF THE SUMMER! Let's all think positive thoughts that it'll go through. Aug 13 + 14...I know my toes and fingers are crossed! J. Geils will hopefully open both shows...and Check Peter Wolf's new song, I like it a ...
