2nd Update: Joan Rivers's daughter, Melissa Rivers, released another statement on Wednesday:
“My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support.”
Update: Despite rumors that Joan Rivers was being taken out of her medically induced coma on Tuesday, Melissa released a statement regarding her mother's status.
“On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we’ve received," she wrote on her mother's official site. "At this time she does remain on life support. I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers.”
Sources told E! News that the comedienne is making positive steps after her breathing allegedly stopped during a throat surgery last week.
“It’s a slow process, but she’s on the road to recovery,” an insider tells E! “She’s getting better. Don’t believe all this ridiculous speculation.”
E!’s “Fashion Police,” on which Rivers serves as co-host, cancelled its taping for a New York Fashion Week-themed episode because of her health troubles.
According to Deadline, Joan’s daughter released a statement on Sunday stating that “our fingers are crossed” for her recovery.
Melissa released an earlier statement about her mother's health last Thursday (via Deadline):
"I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers."
