Is Kendall Jenner embarrassed of her famous moniker?

The daughter of Olympian Bruce Jenner is reportedly dropping her surname for her professional modeling gigs, instead choosing to go simply by the name Kendall, according to “People.”

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star, whose last name is absent on her Society Management modeling profile, has certainly raised her profile on the runway, including her controversial Marc Jacobs outfit when she walked at Fashion Week.

Jenner also sounded conspicuously like her brother’s ex-girlfriend, Adrienne Bailon, when discussing how her Kardashian connection actually hindered her career.

“What I have has almost worked against me,” she explained to “LOVE.” “I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn’t take me seriously as a model…”

Still, Kendall isn’t exactly hiding out the fact that she’s part of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Along with presenting at the Billboard Awards this year, she also hit the red carpet at the VMAs over the weekend with sisters Kim and Kylie.

Are you buying that explanation? How does “Kendall” stack up against singularly-named models like Gia, Twiggy and Iman? Weigh in below!
