Beyonce’s dad says the rumors of her troubled marriage to Jay Z were made up “to ignite” their On the Run Tour.
Per Radar Online, Mathew Knowles stopped by Houston’s “Roula and Ryan Show,” revealing that “we’ve done this before” and he even has a term for that kind of marketing ploy: the Jedi mind trick.
Though he wouldn’t confirm, Knowles hinted that the Solange-Jay Z elevator video might have also been a bid for better ticket sales.
“The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of times. Things you see sometimes are [makes “mind blown” motion]. All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everybody’s talking about it, ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200 percent,” he said, ending with a shrug.
After that, Knowles explained that Destiny’s Child might be making a comeback.
“[People just] don’t know it. I am still the manager of Destiny’s Child. When you see Destiny’s Child on TV, and you see them doing songs together, slowly, slowly. Now they’ve done two, they were recently on TV. I don’t know, it might be another Destiny’s Child coming. There might be this tour that makes history.”
Do you think he’s for real, or is just another “Jedi mind trick”? See the video here and sound off in the comments!
