The search for the next “Bachelor” is finally over, though his search for love has only just begun.

With Arie Luyendyk Jr. confirming that he’s “not the Bachelor” on Twitter, “Us Weekly” reports that the gig has officially gone to Chris Soules.

The other clue is that Arie tweeted, “Have fun on the farm people,” a clear nod to his competition, a farmer from Iowa.

Case in point:

Chris was considered the front-runner by many for the lead role on the dating reality series, appearing on the most recent season of “The Bachelorette.”

He was cast off by Andi Dorfman, despite the fact that she had serious feelings for him.

Chris won’t begin his Bachelor reign until midseason, with “Dancing with the Stars” holding on to ABC’s time-shared Monday night slot until then.

There’s always “Bachelor in Paradise,” if you’re into that sort of thing. What do you think of Chris as the next Bachelor? Sound off in the comments!
