One of the most enduring cinematic myths is that humans only use “ten percent of their brains.”

Scarlett Johansson’s “Lucy” is the latest action flick to endorse that (erroneous) philosophy, which is being mocked in the latest posters for “Dumb & Dumber To.”

After debuting the official trailer on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in June, stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels have each been given their own character poster which asks:

“The average person uses 10% of their brain capacity. Imagine what he could do with 1%.

“Lucy” is nowhere near the first film to use that structure to posit what would happen if someone used 100 percent – in this case, ScarJo’s supercharged title character.

Still, the Luc Besson thriller certainly took some heat for it before going on to show that the viewing public doesn’t really care.

“Lucy” has reportedly grossed more than $168 million in less than four weeks.

We’ll have to find out whether “Dumb & Dumber To” can come close to those numbers.

Yet one thing’s for sure: Harry and Lloyd definitely can’t count that high. Share your take on the posters below!
