Maroon 5 is setting a course for the MTV Video Music Awards.

The guys announced on Facebook on Wednesday that they’ll perform at the VMAs for the first time ever.

The band joins a lineup that already includes Ariana Grande, Usher and 5 Seconds of Summer.

"We are so excited about our upcoming new album and to be part of the great VMA lineup this year. It is our first time doing the show and we are thrilled to be on it performing our new single," Adam Levine said in the post.

The post says they’ll perform “a single off their upcoming fifth studio album, “V,” but it doesn’t specify which one, so it might not be their leadoff hit, “Maps.”

The full album is scheduled for release on September 2, including a collaboration with new “The Voice” coach Gwen Stefani.

The VMAs will air live on Sunday, August 24 at 9pm on MTV. Will you be tuning in?
