Now that Maya has met the world, Disney wants her to see a little bit more of it.
The Disney Channel has officially renewed “Girl Meets World” for a second season, according to BuzzFeed.
The long-in-development project premiered earlier this summer and has aired just five episodes.
Clearly, fans are into it and the throwback feel of the “Boy Meets World” spinoff, since the second season comes after season one was expanded to 21 episodes.
Sabrina Carpenter stars in the show as Maya, daughter of Topanga (Danielle Fishel) and Cory Matthews (Ben Savage).
Filming on season two will begin in November, not long before a holiday episode airs that promises the much-hyped return of “Boy” series regular Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter.
Other callbacks to the original series include William “Mr. Feeny” Daniels and Lee “Minkus” Norris.
“Girl Meets World” airs Friday nights at 8:30pm on the Disney Channel. Have you been tuning in? Weigh in on the renewal news in the comments section below!
