A father walking his daughter down the aisle is a time-honored tradition, but for one Tennessee woman, it's a chance to fulfill one of her dad's last wishes.
Whitney Moore’s father, David, is living with terminal liver cancer, and with doctors giving him just several months to live, she chose to take action, according to FOX 29.
Though she’s not engaged, Whitney decided to host a wedding ceremony so her dad could walk her down the aisle.
“I knew time was of the essence,” he told the “Times News” of agreeing to the ceremony. “We went ahead and planned it, did it. It was very emotional.”
After the ceremony, they later had a father-daughter dance to the song “Daddy Dance with Me.”
Whitney got the idea from a similar story of an 11-year-old girl who had her dad walk her down the aisle, and she chose to recreate it for herself.
David told “Times News” that his other wish is to go fishing off a pier with his son, Logan, a trip which is planned for August 10.
