Of all the remakes, reboots and film adaptations we’ve seen over the past few years, there has been conspicuously little chatter about a “Wrinkle in Time” project.

However, that’s all over now, since “Variety” now reports that Jennifer Lee, who co-wrote and directed “Frozen,” will pen the screenplay for the first novel in Madeleine L’Engle’s book series.

The project was first in development back in 2010, following ABC’s TV movie adaptation of the book which co-starred Gregory Smith (“Rookie Blue”), Alfre Woodard and Kyle Secor (“Veronica Mars”).

Per L’Engle’s official site, the 1962 book follows a girl named Meg and her brother, Charles Wallace, who travel through space in search of their father with a new pal named Calvin.

There are four books in the series, with “Wrinkle” followed by “A Wind in the Door,” “A Swiftly Tilting Planet,”“Many Waters” and “An Acceptable Time.”
