Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy, has some strong words for Lifetime regarding their forthcoming biopic about her daughter’s life.
Cissy tells “Entertainment Tonight” that the network is pursuing the “Whitney Houston” project in spite of her “family’s objections.”
“I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn’t know her,” she told “ET.” “We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please let her rest.”
Notably, Angela Bassett – who co-starred with Houston in “Waiting to Exhale” – will direct the film, which will star “America’s Next Top Model” alum Yaya DaCosta.
Bassett has already weighed in why she has kept her distance from the family and chose not to cast Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, in the role.
