Growing up as Beyonce’s little sister, the spotlight wasn’t always on Solange Knowles.

Though she took center stage after a video of an altercation between herself and Bey’s husband, Jay Z, was leaked online, but she’s more than ready to move on.

Referring to it as “that thing,” she told “Lucky” magazine, “What’s important is that my family and I are all good. What we had to say collectively was in that statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that.”

Most of the piece focuses on Solange’s music career, from writing songs for her sister and Destiny’s Child alum Kelly Rowland to her own forthcoming album.

She does say that family is central to her life, adding to “Lucky,” “We’ve always held each other down no matter what. That’s something I’m drilling into [son] Julez now.”

Solange, along with Beyonce and Jay Z, has only spoken about the incident once before, in a joint statement to the Associated Press back in May.

“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility… in this private matter that has played out in the public,” the statement reads (via the AP). “They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
