Robin Thicke got emotional at the BET Awards last night, professing that Paula Patton is his “Forever Love.”
The singer issued his latest apology to his wife, with whom he separated earlier this year, when introducing his performance, "Us Weekly" reports.
“Good evening, my name is Robin Thicke, I’d like to dedicate this song to my wife, and say, ‘I miss you, and I’m sorry.’ This is called ‘Forever Love.’”
Thicke seems to be taking the idea of an “apology tour” to the next level, naming his next album “Paula” and devoting the video for his leadoff single, “Get Her Back,” to their relationship.
None of his previous efforts appear to have worked, leading him to Sunday night’s stirring performance.
Near the end of “Forever Love,” he seemed to get choked up, pausing for a moment and putting his hand to his face. After it was over, he sat there with his head down while the crowd applauded.
“Paula” will be released on July 1, and we’ll find out whether his fans are as swept away by the songs as he hopes Patton will be.
