There’s a reason why “Saved by the Bell” continues to air in syndication, so many years after the show left the airwaves, and Lifetime is banking on that for ratings success.

The often corny, always entertaining Saturday morning hit is getting the Lifetime Original Movie treatment, since the only thing better than more “Bell” is dirt on the cast from behind-the-scenes.

Per the official press release, “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story” will air on September 1 during Labor Day weekend and is filming now in Vancouver.

Launching stars like Mark-Paul Gosselaar (“Franklin & Bash”), Tiffani Thiessen (“White Collar”) and “Extra” host Mario Lopez, the show began as a Haley Mills (“Parent Trap”) vehicle titled “Good Morning, Miss Bliss.”

The focus soon switched to Zach Morris (Gosselaar), running for five seasons and spawning two TV movies and an ill-fated “College Years” spinoff.

The cast of newcomers includes Dylan Everett as Gosselaar, Sam Kindseth as Dustin Diamond, Julian Works as Lopez, Alyssa Lynch as Thiessen, Tiera Skovbye as Elizabeth Berkley and Taylor Russell McKenzie as Lark Voorhies.

Hopefully, there will be room to cast a young Leah Remini, because as well all know, the best episodes were those summer beach episodes.
