Kanye West
and celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz are burying the hatchet.

In fact, the duo released a joint statement after West’s comments about her at a recent event in Cannes.

Leibovitz’s rep insists that she was “never confirmed” to do a portrait in the first place, along with the fact that she is “not known to shoot weddings.”

The photog was behind his joint “Vogue” cover with his new bride, Kim Kardashian. Per the statement,

“It was Kanye’s dream to bring together for the wedding his favorite creatives – Ricardo Tisci on the dress, Vanessa Beecroft on the experience, and Andrea Bocelli – Kim’s favorite singer - singing Kim’s favorite song as she walked down the aisle.”

Along with that trio, his first choice to capture their big day was Leibovitz, and while that was not to be, Kanye is clear that he still “loves and respects” her as an artist.

"Picture this,” Kanye said in the statement. “The most-liked Instagram photo of all time, shot by Annie Leibovitz. Oh, I’m sorry for dreaming out loud. Again.”

For now, he’ll have to keep dreaming. Share your thoughts on the mea culpa in the comments section below!
