From their preoccupation with Mick Jagger to their insistence of using payphones in a smartphone world, Adam Levine and company are nothing if not old school.

That trend continues in Maroon 5’s new single, “Maps,” which hit the web early Monday morning.

“Maps” definitely falls in line with the group’s post-“Moves Like Jagger” sound. The track is the leadoff single from their newly-announced record, “V,” which will drop on September 2.

In other news from the band, Levine is in the middle of promoting his first major film role as Keira Knightley’s ex in the musical dramedy “Begin Again.”

Set for release in early July, the movie also stars Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld and Catherine Keener.

Levine’s label, 222 Records, will release the soundtrack for “Begin Again,” which features songs by himself, Knightley and his former “The Voice” co-star Cee Lo Green, among others.

Take a listen to “Maps” and let us know how it stacks up against their past hits in the comments section below!
