is a tough act to follow, but in this new age of A-list stars in Broadway roles, that’s just the “new normal.”

Book of Mormon” alum Andrew Rannells will take over for NPH as the lead in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” on the Great White Way.

Variety” reports that he’ll kick off his time with the show on August 20 and will run through mid-October after the "How I Met Your Mother" star's run concludes.

Rannells will also be a series regular in the upcoming fourth season of HBO’s “Girls,” reprising his role as Hannah’s ex, Elijah.

The star, who played Hedwig back in 2001 in a smaller Texas production, is also widely known for his role on the acclaimed but short-lived NBC comedy “The New Normal.”

Harris just took home a Best Lead Musical Actor Tony for the part in “Hedwig,” playing the title character, a transgender German rock star.

The play itself won Best Revival of a Musical at the awards ceremony over the weekend. Check out their (slightly NSFW) performance at the Tonys to see what Andrew is up against.
