“Pretty Little Liars”
will far and away be the longest-running original series in ABC Family history.

The cable network picked up a sixth and seventh season just hours before the season five premiere aired on Tuesday night.

According to the official press release, season 6 will bow in mid-2015, with season 7 coming in 2016.

It has not been confirmed whether the show will come to an end after the episodes ordered in the unprecedented pickup, but it’s not out of the question.

In advance of season 5, executive producer Marlene King told TVLine she hoped to announce the final season “soon.”

Aside from great ratings for ABC Family, the show is the most-tweeted scripted series of all time, in large part due to its army of young, female viewers.

“PLL” airs Tuesday nights at 8pm, leading into new drama “Chasing Life” at 9. Are you excited for the pickup or worried that you’ll have to wait three more seasons to find out who the dastardly “A” is?
