Almost nothing can make TV watchers cry more than an episode of “Parenthood,” other than the news that the family drama is coming to an end.
But alas, it is, with the NBC series airing its final 13-episode beginning Thursday, September 25. “TV Guide” got the lowdown on the show’s last episodes at an ATX Television Festival panel over the weekend.
Based on Ray Romano’s appearance at the panel, there’s a large likelihood his character, Hank, will return for season 6, and Lauren Graham is in full support of that decision.
“On ‘Gilmore Girls,’ we did an episode that we didn’t know would be the last one and that was a very odd feeling,” she told the panel (via “TV Guide”). “I got the news [of cancellation] at a restaurant! And so to know we’re finishing at all is the best possible case. But of course I hope she ends up with Hank.”
Other than that, the last episodes will focus on Adam Braverman’s (Peter Krause) ascent to the family patriarch, along with further exploration of the season 5 finale reveal that his daughter Haddie (Sarah Ramos) had brought her girlfriend (Tavi Gevinson) home to meet them.
