It’s a joyous day for “Harry Potter” fans, as “Dumbledore” will be joining forces with J.K. Rowling once again.
Once again, Michael Gambon, who portrayed the grandfatherly wizard in the later films, has joined a miniseries adaptation of Rowling’s “The Casual Vacancy,” according to “Variety.”
HBO will air the mini along with BBC One in the U.K., with stars not as well known across the pond, including Rory Kinnear, Keeley Hawes, Monica Dolan, Abigail Lawrie and Julia McKenzie.
Gambon will play the deli owner in the small town that experiences a subtle revolution after one of the village’s public figures passes away.
A premiere date has not been set, though we do know Rowling’s adaptation of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” – which she’s penning herself – will hit theaters in November 2016.
Though it’s not quite Harry Potter, it’s fun to see Rowling back in action again. Do you think you’ll tune in or is it not the same without the fantasy?
