It’s Mark Wahlberg’s birthday gift to us: he might team up with Will Ferrell again!
Wahlberg – who celebrates his birthday on Thursday – is negotiating a starring role in Paramount’s “Daddy’s Home,” according to Deadline.
Ferrell has already been cast, with the “Transformers 4” star possibly replacing Vince Vaughn, who left the project.
The two previously co-starred as an unlikely cop duo in the hilarious (an underrated) “The Other Guys” back in 2010.
For “Daddy’s Home,” they would play a radio exec (Ferrell, again in a more understated role) who is trying to be a spectacular stepfather – until their “cool dad” (Wahlberg) shows up, and the battle for love begins.
It’s not a done deal, but production will start in the fall and leads will need to be locked in soon.
We’re hoping that Mark signs on, because they make a great team. Just check out the trailer for the “Other Guys” to be reminded of the magic.
