Adam Levine is constantly battling it out with his fellow “The Voice” judges, but that drama is clearly all for show.
For his first major film project, “Begin Again,” producer Anthony Bregman said the Maroon 5 singer’s behavior was diva-free.
In fact, he revealed to “The Hollywood Reporter” that Levine actually campaigned for his role despite his level of fame and success.
“He stuck his neck out; he put himself on tape for it. He couldn’t have been more enthusiastic about it,” Bregman told “THR.” “He flew himself in for it and was the opposite of difficult. He really put himself in [“Once” director John Carney’s] hands for his first movie experience.”
He plays the ex-boyfriend of Keira Knightley in the musical dramedy, which also stars Mark Ruffalo and Hailee Steinfeld (“Pitch Perfect 2”).
This is Levine’s biggest on-screen role to date, aside from playing himself in an episode of “30 Rock” and a brief recurring role on “American Horror Story: Asylum.”
“Begin Again” will be out in limited release on June 27 before expanding on July 11. Check out the trailer and weigh in below!
