While the CW is a direct descendant of the WB, ABC Family is the obvious heir apparent when it comes to family programming.
That’s why it couldn’t be more perfect that Zap2it is reporting “Dawson’s Creek” actor Kerr Smith has landed a plum role on the newest jewel in the cable network’s crown: “The Fosters.”
Spoiler Alert: In season 2, Smith will play the biological father of Callie (Maya Mitchell), who learned in the previous finale that the man she thought was her dad in fact was not.
Smith played Jack McPhee, one of the first openly gay regular characters on TV, on five seasons of “Dawson’s Creek.”
After the show ended in 2003, he recurred on “Charmed” and had a regular role on the CW’s short-lived “Life Unexpected.”
The second season of “The Fosters” will debut on Monday, June 18 at 9pm on ABC Family. Do you see the family resemblance? Share your take in the comments!
