’s “GQ” cover story is the gift that keeps on giving.

The “22 Jump Street” actor has already raised eyebrows for comments about his drinking, and now he’s telling tales out of school.

In an extended piece from the interview, Tatum explained that the day he met Shia LaBeouf before filming “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints,” a night of drinking could have gone awry.

“We were drinking. And I think our initial thing was ‘Alright, let’s go out and try to get in a fight!’ This was just young dumb idiot actors that that’s going to bond us… I think that’s a little immature in hindsight,” he told “GQ.”

The movie star says he has a wildly different memory from LaBeouf’s previous telling of the night, adding, “The kid’s an incredible actor… I just wish that he would just act. Just act, man!”

In the first part of the “GQ” interview, Tatum described himself as “probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess.”
