With so many movies being released throughout the year, it can be hard to keep track. To help, check out our preview of the movies that are opening this weekend:
“X-Men: Days of Future Past”
We’ll have a full review tomorrow, but the most important thing to know is that “Days” brings back stars from the original trilogy, like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Halle Berry and Ellen Page. Wolverine is sent back in time from an apocalyptic future to rewrite history, but first he’ll have to bring James McAvoy’s young Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender’s Erik back together. Jennifer Lawrence also stars. Rated PG-13.
Well, it worked for Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in both “The Wedding Singer” and “50 First Dates,” so who’s to say that “Blended” won’t be a successful third outing. This time, the duo plays single parents who end up on a vacation together after a horrific blind date. The wonderful supporting cast includes Wendi McLendon-Covey, Kevin Nealon and Terry Crews. Rated PG-13.
Out in limited release this weekend, this true story probably won’t make rising star Mia Wasikowska a household name, but it’ll certainly earn her some cred among critics. The “Alice in Wonderland” star plays Robyn Davidson, a woman who walked nearly 2,000 miles in the Australian desert. She meets “Girls” star Adam Driver along the way, but this movie certainly shows that there’s beauty in solitude. Rated PG-13.
