“The Shield”
star Michael Jace has reportedly been charged in his wife’s shooting death.

CNN reports that Jace, who played Julien Lowe on the FX series, was detained after his wife, April, was found dead in their Los Angeles home. She was 40 years old.

Police reportedly arrived at their home around 8:30pm on Monday, where two children were present and taken into protective custody, according to the “Los Angeles Daily News.

In response to the news, Jace’s “Shield” co-star Kenny Johnson tweeted, “I hear you. It’s horrible… [S]itting here stunned and sad!!!!”

After getting his start in an early ‘90s episode of “Law & Order,” Jace found roles in “Forrest Gump,” “The Replacements” and “Planet of the Apes.”

Since “The Shield” ended in 2008, he has guest starred on a number of TV shows, mostly recently with a recurring role on TNT’s “Southland.”

Our thoughts are with the friends and family of those involved at this time.
