Ryan Reynold’s career might need a little bit of a “change-up.”
No, we’re not talking about his 2011 comedy but instead the fact that his latest film isn’t getting the greatest reviews.
His new thriller “The Captive” was “greeted with a smattering of boos” at the Cannes Film Festival, according to “Variety.”
Though his performance might not have elicited the less-than-stellar crowd reaction, “Us Weekly” reports that Reynolds skipped the movie’s after-party. Instead, he went to dinner, where he was consoled by his wife, Blake Lively, at dinner.
“[It] looked like Blake was trying to cheer him up a few times… she rubbed his arm like she was consoling him and kept whispering in his ear,” an onlooker tells “Us.”
“Captive” is a mystery about a young girl who goes missing, with Reynolds playing her father. The project also stars Scott Speedman, Rosario Dawson and “The Killing” actress Mireille Enos.
Reynolds hasn’t had the best of luck with his movies lately, including the underperforming “Green Lantern,” “R.I.P.D.” and the aforementioned “Change-Up.”
