“Godzilla” ripped the box office apart this weekend, and he’s already coming back for more.
Fans of the iconic character who might have been a tad disappointed by the minimal number of creature sightings in the reboot will be happy to hear that the legendary kaiju character is getting a sequel.
Not even a week after “Godzilla” hit theaters in the States, Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is back to work developing a follow-up.
Still, director Gareth Edwards has said any sequel would likely feature “the same kind of restraint” when it comes to showing the legendary monster on screen.
In total, the film has garnered nearly $200 million worldwide, including $93 million in the U.S. alone.
“Godzilla” stars Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Sally Hawkins (“Blue Jasmine”), Juliette Binoche and “Kick**” star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
