For the premiere of their latest historical drama, AMC is making a little history of their own.
The cable network is unveiling its ‘80s-set computer drama, “Halt and Catch Fire,” in a manner that’s light years ahead of the show’s content.
In a first, the pilot episode is available for previewing on Tumblr now through the end of the month, as well as On Demand and on AMC’s official site, according to The Futon Critic.
Lee Pace (“Pushing Daises”) will play an ex-IBM exec who hopes to bring his new company “into the personal computer race” during “battle for CTRL” in the 1980s.
“Halt and Catch Fire is a fun ride through the early days of the PC era, a time when no one could imagine a portable computer weighing less than 15 pounds, let alone one that was a few ounces and doubled as a phone,” AMC president Charlie Collier said in a statement (via The Futon Critic).
The show also stars Kerry Bishe (“Scrubs”), Scoot McNairy and “That Awkward Moment” actress Mackenzie Davis.
“Halt” will officially debut on Sunday, June 1. Check out the first episode here to be a part of history and weigh in on the show in the comments!
