President Coin will loom large when “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” hits theaters in November.
That’s clear from the way Lionsgate unveiled a first-look interview with Coin’s portrayer, Julianne Moore, the same day they posted the motion poster for “Mockingjay.”
“District 13 really looks like a bomb shelter, and that’s what it is. It’s all been built just hundreds of feet underground, so it can withstand any kind of attack and detection,” she explains.. “Basically, the Capitol believes that they’ve destroyed this District, that everyone is dead. But these people have managed to kind of eke out a living and take what little they have and take it down there.”
According to the official synopsis, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) finds herself in District 13, which is under control of the mysterious President Coin, who she describes as “very sparingly drawn.”
Katniss’s journey comes to a head in the first half of the two-part conclusion. To see the motion trailer and some first-look photos, head over to gossipcop.com.
