For those who thought James Franco’s latest half-nude selfie was another Instagram mishap, think again.

On Thursday, Franco told David Letterman on “Late Night” that he’s just giving his devotees what they want.

“To me, it’s just a fun thing. It’s something I don’t put a ton of thought into, but it gets a lot of attention… I didn’t ask you to look at it! It’s what the people want. If you don’t want to see it, don’t follow me. Don’t follow me on Instagram,” he exclaimed to Dave on the CBS series.

The posting of the racy selfie came after Franco apologized for a conversation he had with a teenage girl on the social media site earlier this year.

“I’m embarrassed, and I guess I’m just a model of how social media is tricky,” he said on “Live! With Kelly and Michael.” “You get a feel for them, you don’t know who you’re talking to,” he offered. “I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson.”
