The first trailer for Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” is here!

His parents, played by Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner, simply just don’t understand.

The film is adapted from the classic children’s story, which featured Alexander getting up on the wrong side of the bed and experiencing a series of day-ruining events, from a dentist appointment to a failed school assignment.

But it seems that in this version, Alexander is having a pretty normal day, and his usually perfect family is learning to live in his shoes, with an awful job interview and an even more disastrous driving test.

Because this is a movie for kids, Carell does get into an altercation with a loose kangaroo, but “Alexander” seems to have a lot of heart.

Dylan Minnette (“Scandal”), Disney actress Bella Thorne, Jennifer Coolidge and “Community” star Donald Glover also star.

“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” will hit theaters in October. What did you think of the trailer? Share your take in the comments!
