The new season of Lifetime’s “Witches of East End” promises to be darker and edgier, and the show’s getting a little help from a new cast addition.

Zap2it reports that the supernatural cable series will welcome a new series regular, Christian Cooke, when it returns this summer.

Beyond that, though, the show has also nabbed a precise premiere date for its sophomore season. “Witches” will begin anew on Sunday, July 6.

According to Zap2it, the series will pick up after the door to Asgard is opened, and “what comes through will change everyone’s lives permanently.”

Cooke’s character is described simply as “a stranger,” but perhaps he could be Ingrid (Rachel Boston) and Freya’s (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) long-lost brother.

Also complicating things is that a major season 1 death means the Gardiner boys will be getting their warlock powers back.
