Up until now, the only real look at Melissa McCarthy’s “Tammy” has been a standalone clip of her title character robbing a fast food joint.

That scene is still included in the full trailer, but thankfully it’s put within context, as Tammy goes on the run with her wild grandmother (Susan Sarandon in old-age makeup).

During their road trip, they’ll encounter a laundry list of stars, including Kathy Bates, Allison Janney, Toni Collette and Dan Aykroyd.

McCarthy co-wrote the film with her husband, Ben Falcone, who also helmed the feature.

Here’s hoping Falcone was able to take a break from directing long enough to at least pop up for a cameo as funny as his “Bridesmaids” air marshal.

The former “Gilmore Girls” actress will also reunite with “The Heat” director Paul Feig on “Spy,” a secret agent flick that also stars Rose Byrne and Jason Statham.

“Tammy” opens on July 2, just in time for the Independence Day weekend. What did you think of the latest preview? Drop a comment below!
