Continuing his family’s cowboy legacy, Scott Eastwood has nabbed the lead role in the latest film from Nicholas Sparks, “The Longest Ride.”

Clint Eastwood’s photogenic son will star as Luke Collins, a bull rider who falls in love with a college girl, a role that has yet to be cast, Deadline reports.

On his official site, Sparks revealed that the backdrop of the film is a small town based on Black Mountain, NC, a town in the Southern Appalachians.

The novel also tracks an elderly man who looks back on his relationship with his late wife when he finds himself stranded after a car accident.

Eastwood, 28, previously starred in a few of his father’s films, including “Gran Torino” and “Trouble with a Curve,” before landing roles in “Texas Chainsaw 3D” and Brad Pitt’s upcoming World War II drama “Fury.”

Sparks also has a two-hour backdoor pilot set in the post-Civil War era at Lifetime. Titled “Deliverance Creek,” the project stars Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”) and “Pretty Little Liars” actor Wes Ramsey.
