Batman and Superman are gearing up for a fight, but before long, they’ll be playing on the same team.
“The Wall Street Journal” reports that Warner Bros. is officially developing a “Justice League” film, which will likely hit theaters in 2018.
“Justice” will follow 2016’s untitled “Man of Steel” sequel, which will pit Henry Cavill’s Superman against the latest iteration of Batman, played by Ben Affleck.
“It will be a further expansion of this universe,” said Warner Bros.’ Greg Silverman (via “WSJ”). “‘Superman vs. Batman’ will lead into ‘Justice League.’”
Like the two preceding Superman films, “Justice” will be helmed by Zack Snyder (“300”).
Ahead of the group's on-screen debut, “Superman vs. Batman” will also introduce Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, along with a cameo of Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and it’s unclear who else might pop up.
As for a Wonder Woman spinoff, “That is our hope,” WB’s president of worldwide marketing told “WSJ.”
