Meg Ryan is the queen of romantic comedies, so it’s fitting that she’ll be a part of “How I Met Your Dad.”
The “When Harry Met Sally” actress has signed on to narrate the show, a spinoff of CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother,” TVLine reports.
She will voice an older version of the show’s female lead, played by Greta Gerwig.
Ryan rose to fame as a frequent collaborator with the late Nora Ephron in “When Harry Met Sally,” along with “You’ve Got Mail” and “Sleepless in Seattle.”
In a perfect coincidence, Gerwig’s character is also named Sally, and she will also be searching for love in New York City.
With “HIMYM” coming to an end this year, it’s only natural for the Eye Network to look for a fitting replacement for one of its longest-running hits.
CBS will announce whether “Dad” will be picked up to series at the network upfronts next month.
