Justin Bieber “believes” that he needs a little more time before heading to court.
“Billboard” reports that attorneys for the “Boyfriend” singer have requested to delay the trial, which is now set for May 5 in Miami.
A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday to make a final decision, but the report states that the prosecutors had no issue with a continuance.
Following his arrest in January, Bieber was charged with driving under the influence, driving on an expired license and resisting arrest.
As for the pop star’s current whereabouts, E! Online reports that he is living it up on a vacation in Japan with his mother.
Even that trip has not been without an international incident, as he apologized Wednesday morning for visiting a shrine “honoring war criminals in Tokyo.”
“I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. TO anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry,” he wrote.
