While presenting at the Oscars should have been a shining moment for Kim Novak, the actress says the social media backlash gave her “vertigo.”
Well, not exactly, but the 81-year-old “Bell, Book & Candle” actress revealed that she was essentially housebound after the Academy Awards.
“It really did throw me into a tailspin and it hit me hard,” she told the AP (via “Us Weekly”). “For days, I didn’t leave the house, and it got to me like it gets to kids and teenagers [who are attacked].”
Most of the comments stemmed from the appearance of her face as she took the stage with Matthew McConaughey, which many believed was due to plastic surgery.
“I’m not going to deny that I had fat injections in my face,” the “Vertigo” actress wrote (via “Us”). “The seemed far less invasive than a face lift. In my opinion, a person has a right to look as good as they can, and I feel better when I look better.”
