Ice Cube
is taking a step back after making some controversial comments about the MTV Movie Awards.

After he and his “Ride Along” co-star, Kevin Hart, lost “Best Duo” to the late Paul Walker and Vin Diesel (“Fast & Furious 6”), he lashed out to “USA Today.”

“We was robbed. Shame on you MTV,” he said, adding, We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated, for us not to win was crazy. We were the best onscreen duo, period.”

Fans of Walker felt Ice Cube’s comments were disrespectful of the deceased star, though he did offer that MTV “should have gave it to him before he passed away.”

The “22 Jump Street” actor then took to Twitter to further express himself, writing, “I wasn’t really mad we didn’t win. So I would never diss the actors who won. Not even Paul Walker. Seriously people… And Paul Walker fans don’t trip. I was a fan too.”
